Woman Given DWI after Serious Car Accident

Posted on February 1st, 2013 No Comments

After swerving into the left lane while driving northwards and flipping her car over, 48-year-old Susan Renee Grant was given a DWI by the Wilmington Police Department on Tuesday, January 22.

Police said Grant didn’t fasten her seat belt, causing her to be thrown out of the vehicle on the passenger side of the car. Fortunately, she didn’t sustain serious injuries, but was brought to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for emergency treatment.

Because police stated that she was impaired from an unknown quantity of legally prescribed narcotic pills and illegal drugs, Grant was charged with a DWI,  not wearing a seat belt, and failing to maintain her lane. She must appear in court on February 20th.
