Wake Forest basketball player charged with DWI

Posted on September 7th, 2011 No Comments

A 19 year-old basketball player for Wake Forest University has been charged with drunk driving after he was found unconscious behind the wheel of his car with the engine still on. The man had a blood alcohol level of 0.09, just above the 0.08 legal limit. Officers have charged him with driving while intoxicated and driving after consuming alcohol under the age of 21.

The athlete has decided to leave Wake Forest following his arrest. Last season, he made the second most points per game on his team. This man is only one of several on the team who have faced legal charges in the past few years. Just last year, a player was charged with assault, another was charged with breaking and entering as well as fraud, and another player was suspended for violating the school’s student code of conduct.
