Posted on June 8th, 2011 No Comments

A 37-year-old Virginia man who was driving a bus when it crashed and killed four people has recently been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter. The man had been previously held on misdemeanor reckless driving charges for causing the crash.

The accident occurred last week at 5 a.m. The man was driving a Sky Express bus that was occupied by 57 other people when he became fatigued, swerved off the highway, hit an embankment, and caused the bus to overturn. There were four fatalities and dozens of people were injured during the accident.

The driver of the bus, who had been charged with speeding and other traffic violations in years prior to the accident, could face up to forty years in prison for the accident.
