Schools give breathalyzer tests during prom

Posted on May 17th, 2011 No Comments

Several schools across the United States have begun giving students breathalyzer tests before they are allowed to enter their prom. Schools say that this practice is a way to keep students safe during prom season and curb underage drinking.

Many schools have been giving students breathalyzer tests during prom since 2010. These schools have said that they have not seen a decrease in prom attendance because of the test. School officials say that an equal number of students attend prom now as they did before the tests were implemented.

Students from Maine Endwell High School in New York voiced their support for the breathalyzers, stating that it allows for a more fun and comfortable prom environment. Many schools implemented the tests during prom after their students were found to be driving while intoxicated when leaving the dance.

If you or someone you love has been charged with drunk driving after being given a breathalyzer test, please contact the Raleigh breathalyzer test lawyers of the Law Office of Jim Black at 919-600-4609.

"Jim, I just wanted to thank you again for everything you did for me. I am very happy about the outcome and would recommend you to anyone and everyone who has a DUI case. Two things that stuck out the most is your patience and honesty, you wanted the best for me and that was obvious."
