Rapper cleared of felony drug charges

Posted on September 27th, 2011 No Comments

Rapper Wiz Khalifa has been cleared of all felony drug charges of drug trafficking, owning a vehicle with the intent to store and sell marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Last November, the rapper and nine other people were arrested after police found marijuana and drug paraphernalia on his tour bus following a concert on East Carolina University’s campus. Pitt County District Attorney claims that the felony charges were erroneous since only 2 ounces of marijuana were found and seized on the tour bus; 10 pounds is the legal threshold for a felony offense.

Khalifa paid $300,000 in bonds to get him and nine other people out of jail, another error according to the District Attorney since the charges were incorrect.
