A hit-and-run accident left one teenager dead Saturday morning, June 15, on Hillsborough Street near Dixie Trail, Raleigh police have said.

Thirty-three-year-old suspect Adetoye Adekanmbi was allegedly driving while intoxicated when he drove into two teenagers who were on the street. The crash killed Natalie Chidlaw and left Meghan Clark injured. Adekanmbi fled the scene of the accident.

Adekanmbi, who has a wife and child, will be arraigned in July. He was charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury on June 18 and two counts of felony hit and run causing bodily injury or death and driving with a revoked license on the day of the accident.

Chidlaw was given a memorial service by friends and family the weekend after her death.
