Oxford fire chief charged with DWI

Posted on June 12th, 2012 No Comments

Oxford’s fire chief was arrested over the weekend for driving while intoxicated, NBC17 reports. The chief was pulled over by police early Saturday morning after running a red light.

The man was released from jail later that day and is said to be on unpaid leave while the case is being investigated. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.21, almost twice the legal limit. At this time, his license has been revoked and his court date is scheduled for early July.

This is believed to be the fire chief’s first drunk driving offense. He has held the position since August 2010.

"Jim, I just wanted to thank you again for everything you did for me. I am very happy about the outcome and would recommend you to anyone and everyone who has a DUI case. Two things that stuck out the most is your patience and honesty, you wanted the best for me and that was obvious."
