North Carolina man faces fourth DWI charge

Posted on May 23rd, 2011 No Comments

A 39-year-old man from Belmont was arrested early Sunday morning for drunk driving. This will be the fourth DWI charge for the man, who was convicted of three DWI charges six years ago.

Police officer stopped the man a little after 1:30 a.m. near Laye and 10th Street. He was administered an Intoxilyzer test and was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.12 percent. Officers also noted that the man had glassy, red eyes and smelled of alcohol.

The man is facing a charge of habitual drunk driving, and, if convicted of his fourth DWI, could be sentenced to several years in prison. He is currently being held on a $25,000 bond.

"Jim, I just wanted to thank you again for everything you did for me. I am very happy about the outcome and would recommend you to anyone and everyone who has a DUI case. Two things that stuck out the most is your patience and honesty, you wanted the best for me and that was obvious."
