Posted on January 18th, 2014 No Comments

Donald Willis, 53, could face 40 years in prison if he is convicted with felony serious injury charges. The charges relate to a DWI accident that Willis caused in early January.

The accident occurred in McDowell County when Willis crossed the center line of Seagle Street and crashed into the vehicle of 18-year-old Emily Dalton. The collision totaled her car and cause Dalton injuries. Though her condition has stabilized, her unborn child died from the impact of the wreck.

District attorney Brad Greenway said that being involved in an accident that results in the death of an unborn infant could be classified as “an act done so recklessly and carelessly that it’s inherently dangerous to life”.

Attorneys from The Law Office of Jim Black express our condolences to those affected by this accident.
