North Carolina attorney arrested for alleged DWI

Pender County, North Carolina attorney Carl Woodrow Thurman III was taken into police custody early in the morning of Sunday, February 23 in relation to a driving while impaired charge.

Police authorities stopped his vehicle at around 2:30 a.m. while he was driving along Brunswick County. Thurman’s blood alcohol level was calculated as .08 during his field sobriety test.

As standard procedure for DWI offenses in North Carolina, Thurman’s driver’s license will be suspended for the next 30 days.

Thurman, who served as counselor to Pender County and the board of commissioners, did not make any public comments regarding his arrest.
