NC State students face alcohol charges

Posted on February 23rd, 2012 No Comments

Two North Carolina State University students are facing alcohol related charges after one student struck a cyclist with his car.

The bicyclist, also a student at NC State, was taken to the hospital Sunday night with serious injuries after he was hit on Dan Allen Drive at Yarbrough Drive. He has since been elevated to fair condition.

The student driving the car had a blood alcohol level of 0.12, above the legal limit of 0.08. He faces charges of driving under the influence. A 19 year-old computer science major at the university is charged with underage possession of alcohol and aiding and abetting a minor in purchasing beer.
