N.C. DWI checkpoint ends with one dozen arrested

An overnight DWI checkpoint in Charlotte ended with a dozen arrests and even more cited for traffic citations.

The checkpoint was on Plaza Road at 11 p.m. and lasted for four hours. During this time, 51 charges were made and 12 drunken driving arrests were made. One arrest was for a larceny warrant that was out on a man.

Three people were charged with violating the state laws of having an open container and two were charged with under-age alcohol possession. Eleven people were charged with driving without a license and four were charged with driving with a revoked license.
