Maryland firefighter given probation for drunk driving

Posted on May 2nd, 2011 No Comments

A 30-year-old firefighter from Maryland was recently put on probation for causing an accident while driving drunk.

In April 2010, the man was driving a Ford Taurus when he swerved into oncoming traffic and hit a vehicle containing two adults and three children. Two of the children were seriously injured and taken to the hospital. The firefighter was found to have a blood-alcohol content of 0.16 percent.

The firefighter was originally charged with five counts of second-degree assaults, however, those charges were dropped because the firefighter had no previous arrests and expressed remorse for the accident.

"Jim, I just wanted to thank you again for everything you did for me. I am very happy about the outcome and would recommend you to anyone and everyone who has a DUI case. Two things that stuck out the most is your patience and honesty, you wanted the best for me and that was obvious."
