Man pleads guilty to providing minors with alcohol

Posted on May 15th, 2012 No Comments

A 21-year-old Raleigh man pleaded guilty last week to two counts of providing alcohol to minors. The alcohol was purchased for a party attended by Millbrook High School students in January; one student was killed while an intoxicated friend was driving her home.

The man has been ordered to perform 24 hours of community service and pay a $50 fine plus court costs. Additionally, he will be on probation for 12 months. According to the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement, the man purchased rum for a 16-year-old who later drove drunk.

A 17-year-old girl died of blunt force trauma that night after the 16-year-old lost control and drove into a tree.

"Jim, I just wanted to thank you again for everything you did for me. I am very happy about the outcome and would recommend you to anyone and everyone who has a DUI case. Two things that stuck out the most is your patience and honesty, you wanted the best for me and that was obvious."
