Gordon awaits punishment from Raleigh courts and NFL

Posted on September 12th, 2014 No Comments

The trial for Cleveland Browns’ wide receiver Josh Gordon’s driving while impaired case in Raleigh, North Carolina will be postponed until November 18, WTVD reported on August 26.

Raleigh police arrested Gordon for intoxicated driving in July. According to police reports, an officer asked Gordon to pull over after seeing Gordon drive 50 miles per hour in a 35 mph driving zone on Glenwood Avenue. He drove a vehicle licensed under Charlotte Hornets player and former University of Carolina at Chapel Hill standout P.J. Hairston

Gordon is awaiting sentencing for the DWI charge and punishment from the NFL because he violated the organization’s substance abuse rules. Browns Coach Mike Pettine said in an interview that the team is preparing to manage without Gordon for the least part of the season.
