Gaston County judge lowers bond for DWI suspect

Posted on March 11th, 2011 No Comments

This week, Charla Davis had her bond lowered by Gaston County Superior Court Judge Timothy Kincaid.  Davis’ bond was lowered from $250,000 to $176,000.

Davis faces several charged related to a tragic car accident that left one man dead.  She has been held at the North Carolina Correctional Institution in Raleigh awaiting trial.

In November, a court of appeals ruled that evidence to support the fact that she was driving while impaired was insufficient.  Prosecutors only used an odor analysis to try to prove the DWI charge.  The analyst admitted that it was the first time in their career to base a DWI charge solely on odor analysis.

"Jim, I just wanted to thank you again for everything you did for me. I am very happy about the outcome and would recommend you to anyone and everyone who has a DUI case. Two things that stuck out the most is your patience and honesty, you wanted the best for me and that was obvious."
