Four arrested for drugs after calling deputy

Posted on July 3rd, 2012 No Comments

Four people were arrested in Salisbury earlier this week after they mistakenly called an off-duty Rowan County sheriff’s deputy complaining about a drug purchase. The officer identified himself as police, but the caller continued to call him a total of four times.

After alerting authorities of the calls, he scheduled a meeting in Cleveland with the mystery caller and one other person. The police then arrested the would-be drug buyers.

When the deputy seized their cellphones, one began to ring from someone with a phone number one digit off from his own. He then met and arrested the caller and one other suspect, WAFB reports.
