Ex campaign aide of John Edwards gets DWI charge

Posted on June 18th, 2014 No Comments

Forty-eight-year-old Andrew Young, the former aide to presidential candidate John Edwards in the 2008 elections, was taken into custody in Raleigh by the police and was charged with driving while impaired and misdemeanor child abuse, reported on June 9.

Police officers made the arrest on Rock Quarry Road at around 11:45 p.m. on June 8. When asked by the authorities where he came from earlier that night, Young said he attended a concert at Walnut Creek Amphitheater, where he ingested four beers before leaving for home with his child. In 2006, Young was convicted of a DWI and possession of alcohol on city property.
