Posted on August 2nd, 2012 No Comments

A 40-year-old Raleigh man who was pulled over for driving while intoxicated added a drug charge to his arrest after officers found rocks of crack cocaine in his shoe. The driver was stopped on Interstate 40 near Rock Quarry Road on Sunday.

Authorities did not find the drugs in his shoe until they conducted a search at the Wake County Jail. According to the News Observer, two dosages of crack cocaine were hidden in the heel of his shoe.

The man now faces felony drug charges for possessing a drug in a prison or jail along with a DWI charge and driving with a revoked license.
