A Raleigh, North Carolina resident who caused the death of two motorists due to driving in the wrong lane and while intoxicated is expected to be charged accordingly, local police said.

Ray Norman Rouse IV was driving in an eastbound lane of Wade Avenue while heading in the wrong direction Sunday, March 17 at around 1:15 p.m. when he hit a car driven by Ormond Jackson Bailey. Gaynell Batton Bailey was also a passenger in the car that was hit.

The victims and the suspect were all taken to WakeMed. Unfortunately, the victims immediately died after some time in the hospital, while the suspect was identified to be in critical condition.

Police said Rouse will be charged with driving while impaired and driving on the wrong lane in a dual-lane highway once he is released from the hospital.
