Drunk driving accident kills pedestrian

Twenty-four-year-old Edwin Arturo Ramos was driving a 2005 Honda Accord on the Saturday night of September 20 along Capital Boulevard when he struck and killed pedestrian Clarence Edward Hayes, WRAL reported.

Ramos is currently facing driving while impaired charges. According to preliminary investigations, Hayes was walking in a designated pedestrian crosswalk near Brentwood Road at around 10 p.m. that night when Ramos’ vehicle crashed into him. He was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

Ramos was not harmed in the incident. His arrest warrant showed that his blood alcohol content was at .08 when the accident occurred. He previously faced similar charges in 2010.
