Cleveland Browns receiver arrested for DWI

Posted on July 21st, 2014 No Comments

Raleigh police said 23-year-old Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon was taken into custody for charges of driving while impaired after he was spotted going 15 mph over the speed limit on U.S. Route 70 in early morning hours, news reported on July 7.

According to police spokesman Jim Sughrue, Gordon was detained at the Wake County Detention Center and released on a $500 bail.

Raleigh police captain Tommy Klein said that the police force only arrests people for a DWI if the arrested person had consumed sufficient amounts of alcohol or other mind-altering substances.

Gordon could also be facing a one-season suspension at the National Football League after he recently failed a drug test. He has struggled with suspension related to drug test failure prior to this, in college and professional football.
