1,000 DWIs Given Out During St. Patrick’s Day Week

Posted on March 23rd, 2011 No Comments

Law enforcement officers of Raleigh, North Carolina, charged over 1,000 people with DWIs during the week of St. Patrick’s day. This was made possible by a new campaign called “Booze it or lose it.”

The campaign allowed police officers to set up checkpoints throughout the state of North Carolina. At these checkpoints, officers were able to run sobriety tests on drivers and inspect vehicles. Through the use of this campaign, over 32,000 people were issued traffic citations and over 1,000 of those people were charged with DWIs.

Being charged with a misdemeanor DWI can have unwanted consequences, like jail time and costly fines. If you or someone you love has been charged with a misdemeanor DWI, please contact the Raleigh misdemeanor DWI attorneys of the Law Office of Jim Black at (919) 821-2122.

"Jim, I just wanted to thank you again for everything you did for me. I am very happy about the outcome and would recommend you to anyone and everyone who has a DUI case. Two things that stuck out the most is your patience and honesty, you wanted the best for me and that was obvious."
